A combination of acetominephen, aspirin and caffeine is excellent. This combination is provided by an over the counter drug in a generic equivalent. This combination has been shown to be particularly effective together.
You might try just acetominephen alone first, but I'm assuming you have done that. Some people find ibuprofen effective. That would be my tertiary recommendation.
If your headache is due to stress, go to a quiet, dark room for 20 minutes or so and place a cool or warm cloth (your choice) on your forehead.
Every evening? Make sure you have had recent protein to eat. An empty stomach, or one filled only with carbs and sugar can be brutal.
